The Library at the North India Institute of Theological Studies has become one of the largest resource centers for people to do philosophical, theological, and religious research. It is based in Chandigarh, the main hub of northwest India. The recent grant from a foundation allowed us to expand the number of volumes to make it 10,000+ physical resources and many digital and online resources. This library holds books in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and a few other minority languages.
The Library is managed by the latest software called ResourceMate and is classified according to the Library of Congress Catalog (LCC) system. The donation program of Microsoft made it possible to have the latest operating and office software for the use of the NIITS community.
The use of the library is not limited to any religious group but all and anyone can take membership at a very nominal cost and make use of the resources and check books out to use them in the privacy of their home.
The student computer lab has 20 terminals which are connected to the internet via a high-speed broadband connection and are part of the Library resource to be used by individuals. With a high capacity Diesel Generator, we make sure that there is no interruption of electricity at any time. Library hours are from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
